17 Illegal Stalls in Palmerah Demolished

A month ago, we had sent warning letter to vendors but they ignored it. That's why we demolish their stalls and then transported to our truck

As many as 17 illegal stalls stood atop drainage along Jalan Kemanggisan Pulo, RW 05, Palmerah Urban Village, Palmerah Sub-District, West Jakarta, were demolished by Palmerah Sub-District Satpol PP, Friday (5/30). Demolition is conducted because those stalls look dirty and chaotic.

Head of Palmerah Sub-District Satpol PP, Harapan Tambunan disclosed that the demolished stalls are dominated by food, soft drink and cigarette vendors, located in front of the Elementary School (SDN) 25 Pagi Palmerah.

Junk Stalls in Tomang Controlled

Besides causing traffic congestion and dirty, the stalls also has caused the drain clogged by vendor trashes. "A month ago, we had sent warning letter to vendors but they ignored it. That's why we demolish their stalls and then transported to our truck," he expressed, Friday (5/30).

Namin, (47), one of street vendors along Jalan Kemanggisan Pulo, admitted he has been selling about six years in such location and only resigned with his stall demolished by Satpol PP personnel.

He continued, he and other vendors were never controlled by the personnel about six years. "This is the first time personnel control us," he told.
